Alpaca Show Revisited

Three years ago we went the American Royal Mopaca Alpaca show, today we went back!  It was awesome. I'm still scheming to get my own herd. We've already named our first two alpacas - Darth Vader and Light Saber. Can you guess who decided on those names?

The kids got tiny alpacas and stickers that said "I hugged an alpaca today". 

Then we found a nice lady and she taught the kids to spin using alpaca hair. 

Awesome things about alpacas:

Ollie & Mommy date

While Wes and Penny were out dancing, O and I went to the movies. We saw Mr. Peabody & Sherman. It was a bit much for Ollie. The theme was that Sherman was being taken away from Mr. Peabody. Ollie was scared when Sherman was upset. We played board games and had a good time after the melchony wore off. 

Ollie wants to see this at the drive-in this summer. 

We had the theater to ourselves. 

Daddy & Daughter Butterfly Dance

Wes and Penny just got back from the dance at Pen's school. Wes said it took her awhile to warm up but she did dance.

Painting Lolo's Room

Lo and I took on the task of touch up painting her new room. Do you see the problem?

We used the wrong can of purple. Way to be helpful, Aunt B.  We fixed our mistake, but it took a while.  Who knew it was Stony Gray not Heather Mist?  

Zoo fun

Our zoo pass is just about to expire, so I thought we take one last trip before the weather gets cold AGAIN! 

Penguins are still a hit. If you go, get there early. We went right in to the penguin house and went to Africa. When we got back there was an enormous line.

The animals were all really active. I think the knew the high for the rest of the week was going to be a whopping 40. 

We didn't know it but our pass let us ride the African river boat. Super fun!

Play date with Treyton

After Miles and Evie moved, Ollie has been bummed. This play date with his old pal Treyton was just what he needed. 

Oh yeah - My Birthday

I almost forgot about my birthday. I found the pictures on my camera roll. Mimi and PopPop took us out to Nara for sushi. It was fantastic. Really cool place and yummy food. 

I got two pairs of cute teacher shoes and a fitbit. Now I can keep track of my runs and the tiny amount of sleep I get. Overall, being 35 is pretty great!

Ollie's Star Wars game

Ollie created his own carnival type game using Star Wars characters. 

You throw balls from Penny's ball pit at the cardboard figures and get points when you knock them down. Ollie drew the Jabba and Darth Vader.  He had help with all the others. Note: Rancor monster drawn by Wes.  

Frozen Selfie

Frozen Party!

So Ollie and Lolo have been counting down the days until Disney's Frozen is released. It came out today!  We had a sleepover party to celebrate. 

Dinner was white (snow) mac & cheese, frozen broccoli, and pineapple (insert shoulder shrug here). 

After making glitter glue crowns, we blew up the bed and chowed down on "hailstones" - puppy chow. Frozen was awesome, but our brand new movie started skipping halfway through. I was ready to write a nasty letter to Walmart about quality control, but I opened the DVD player to discover the disc was covered in glitter glue. Hmmm, I wonder how that happened.

Penny Prune

Pen was in the tub for over an hour. She is really clean and wrinkled. 

Erica's Volleyball Tournement

GAK, Erica, and Vince were in town for the Sunflower Slam volleyball Tournement         We drove up to Lawrence to see Erica play.
