First Snow!!

Well eventhough the wind chill was -15 degrees, Ollie went out to play twice. First, Ollie, Mama, and Daddy went out and walked around. We tried to make snow angels, but it was really cold. Then, AuntBLoloUncleJeff (not a typo - it is said as one word), came over to SLED! The Dads took turns pulling them around the yard. Ollie was outside for a told of 20 minutes, but it was the highlight of his day. I can't wait for a real heavy, wet, not-so-cold snow!

Fever and a Tree

Yesterday, Ollie had an exciting day. He spent the afternoon with Uncle Jeff while the moms went shopping. Then, we went home and picked out our tree. By 7:30, Ollie was running a 105 degree fever. We had to go to Children's Mercy. They told us it was a virus. He is home resting today. The artwork was created while super-hot Ollie was in a cool bath. It is the bathtub wall - pretty good for being so feverish!

Belated Visit update

Grandma JJ and G.G. Aunt Ginny came to visit. Ollie had so much fun. He went to zoo and was not afraid to ride the train (as he has been for months). He now is OBSESSED with Frosty the Snowman, and our house is fully decorated for Thanksgiving. (Even though, Ollie keeps taking down the turkeys - because "Halloween is over") Ollie cried when he realized they were gone!

More Painting

Please visit Lotus Land under links to see more pics of Ollie in his underwear painting with LOLO! They had such a messy, good time.

Painting with Daddy

The Artists were home today, because Ollie has been running a high fever for 5 days. He is being tested for mono - poor guy! He was feeling better today, and Daddy got out the paints. They painted several large sheets of paper. Then, Wes taught Ollie how do squeeze paint in between folded sheets of paper to make a picture. After they dried, Wes drew the chickens on these two peices. When he showed them to Ollie, Ollie said "they came to life".

Pumpkin Patch Again

We went on our annual journey to Lawrence for the Shaake's Pumpkin patch fun. Ollie really enjoyed it this year. Last year's trip was SUPER cold. He had so much fun on the slides, the maze, in the field, and looking at the chickens - he could have cared less about buying a pumpkin.

Two Years Old

Ollie had his 2 year appointment last week. He is almost 30 lbs. The nurse asked me how many words he spoke. My reply was a lot. She asked more than 50? For sure. His doctor was so in love with Ollie that she asked to take him home. His current favorites are his big Bullseye and Woody, mac and cheese, drawing on big paper, Halloween books, fingerplays, his inflatable pirate Mickey, and SCHOOL!

Second B-Day in OK

Ollie turned 2 on Oct. 3rd. We celebrated in Oklahoma with G-ma JJ, G-pa Jeff, Dick and Ginny, AuntBLoloUncleJeff (one word), and Grammy and PopPop. It was wonderful weather and a super fun time. Ollie got so many toys - I think we need a new house. His theme was Toy Story which he picked out. Thank you for hosting Granma JJ and Granpa Jeff and thanks to everyone for coming. Ollie says "oh no, my birfday over. I sad."

$102 Carrot Extraction

Well, we have discovered that we should listen to Ollie, because he speaks the truth. On Friday, he told his teacher that he put a carrot up his nose. She let us know and said that she did not see anything up there. We assumed he had put one in there and pulled it out. Later, we asked him about it. He said that the carrot was still up there. We looked and saw nothing. After a discussion with Nurse Aunt B, we decided to look again with a flashlight. Sure enough, there was a carrot up there. It was a 10:00 pm before it was removed in the ER. $100 copay and $2 parking. Unfortunatly, the doc said he is very likely to do it again. Yikes! Live and learn. Coming soon pictures and video of his second b-day!

Huge Popcorn Ball

Ollie and Daddy made the biggest popcorn ball ever - the size of Ollie's head - at the popcorn festival at Velvet Creme Popcorn up the street from our house. He added sprinkles, chocolate chips, and gummy worms. Very fun and very yum.

UnOllie Blog

This post has to do with Ollie's Mom. So you can stop reading and go about your buisness. Anyway, I ran in the Polar Bear run for the Kansas City Zoo this weekend. It was the first competive race - that I wanted to WIN! Oh well, here is the link to my scores and a photo of the fam. Ollie and Daddy looked at the animals while Mommy raced. A good time had by all.

Ollie the Tractor boy

This weekend we went to Harper, Ks for Great grandpa Jerry's b-day. We went to pick peaches with GAK and Erica, drove around in a tractor, tried to make a skunk mad, and almost pee-peed on a snake. All and all a successful trip.

New Camera

Ollie now has his own digital camera. Cousin Erica out-grew it and gave it to Ollie. He LOVES it. As I write this, he is taking pics of everthing. Here are some highlights of his work.

Super Genius!

This drawing is from a few weeks ago, but it is AMAZING! I am allowed to brag with this picture. Ollie has been drawing circles for awhile. He pretends to draw faces, but the little circles (eyes) don't make it in the big circle or the nose is on the other side of the page. This was his first real face. We have had several since then, but none quite as charming.

One of Ollie's favorite games is pretend to sleep. He pretends to sleep, we cover him up, say good night, sing a song, and turn out the lights. Then he waits 3 seconds and says "awake time". This game is endless. We were playing today, and I was tired, so I asked Ollie if he could cover me up and tell me a nursery rhyme. I was shocked when he did! He recited this one. I hope you can tell what it is. This was only his second time saying it aloud. Hopefully, he knows several more - if we get them on tape we will post them!

Polar Bear

We have been waiting all summer for the polar bear exibit to open at the zoo. It opened this week, and the weather was beautiful today. Ollie LOVED the polar bear so much he didn't want to leave. We stayed and watch him for about 30-40 minutes. Ollie also got to brush goats. They had goats all over the lawn for kids to brush and pet. We ate lunch by the zoo's new baby zebra (born last week). What a perfect day!

Camp Aunt B Sleepover

It was Aunt Beth and Uncle Jeff's 5th anniversary this week. They celebrated it by dropping Lolo off at Camp Aunt B. We had a super fun time! Lots of playing and ice cream. Lotus is such a happy girl. We are so glad that Ollie has a cousin that he is so close to. Lotus really wanted to sleep in his big boy bed, but maybe next time!

Big Boy Room

Ollie is growing up super fast! Here is his big boy room. We took apart the old crib, and GAK (great aunt Kim) let us have Erica's old toddler bed. Ollie thinks it is the best thing ever. He is doing very well with the potty training. We are almost to 100% (not at night of course). It was such a relief to pack up all of his cloth diapers. Now I get to wash tiny undies!

Okie Fun!

We have been in Oklahoma a week and have done so much already! Ollie is going through JJ's potty training boot camp. So far, we are almost 100% pee free, but #2 is another story. Here are some pics from our adventures. Fishing, playing with baby goats, running around in his underwear, and backyard swimming!
