Chef Ollie

Ollie's Homemade Dessert
Prep time: 5 min.
Cook time: 0 min.
Ingredients:
2/3 of a ripe banana sliced
1/2 of an apple sliced
4 blueberries
a drizzle of Honey

Place the sliced fruit and blueberries in a sculpture-like arrangement on a clean plate.  Drizzle with honey until your mom says "stop".

Ollie wanted to make a special dessert by himself.  He came up with this on his own.  He painstakingly put each piece of fruit on the plate.  I just sliced the fruit for him.  It was really good!

Penny's Hair

I love the back of my baby's head.  She has long hairs on the bottom, a charming bald spot from where it rubs on the floor, and crazy, spiky hair on the crown of her head.  I want to remember it forever, because she is sitting up more and more.  Soon the back of that head will be covered with hair (sigh).

Splash Park Buddies

Over Memorial Day weekend, Ollie got some time to play with Lolo at the Pierson Park Splash Park.  It was a very sunny day.  Ollie is normally afraid of the large splash elements, but not on this day!

Jammies

This is Penny's last time in our favorite jammies.  They are too small, but oh so cuddly.

Penny's Laugh

We love our baby!  With Ollie, Daddy made him laugh.  This time it is Mommy's turn.

Fun Visit

Ollie, Penny, and I went to visit my old friends, Stacy and Joanna.  We played with Auggie and Hazel.  Ollie loves to play with Auggie - especially Legos.  Hazel did a lot of baby loving.  I am sure Penny will return the love in monthes to come.  We must play with them MORE.  (Joanna's darling daughters not pictured, Nora and Charlotte).

Ollie can WRITE

Ollie has really started to like writing letters.  Here is a sample of a menu he created.  Daddy helped with the word "cheesecake".  He also likes to sound out words and type them on the I-touch in google images.  He thinks Halloween words are expecially cool - ex. scary, spook house, ghost, frankenstein.

Cute Pics

Wait until she starts taking your toys, Ollie!

Batmobile

PopPop and Grammy took Ollie and Lolo to see the new Batmobile, called the Tumbler.  They had a great time, but Ollie was disappointed that there was no Batman, Joker, or Penguin.

3 months!

Penny is so big!  She is smiling and laughing more and more.  She loves to be in the baby bjorn (baby front pack).  She can stand up on your legs.  We are currently working on bottle boot camp, because I have to go back to work for a week and a half.  She is sleeping like a champ - wakes up around 3:00 or 4:00 then goes right back to sleep.  Happy BABY!

School Fun

Ollie had his spring performance which involved singing and playing instruments. He was very reluctant - to go, to sing, to play his musical sticks. We were told by his teacher that she put him in the middle so he could watch her and follow her movements.  We are working on coming out of our shell.

The same afternoon was the Mother's Day Tea at school.  Ollie treated me to some cookies and lemonade.  He made a card and picture frame.  Best of all was watching him play with his new school friends.

BFF

These two still like each other!

Singing in the RAIN

Ollie and I got to have some wet fun this spring during a thunderstorm.  We floated a boat down the street river and splashed in all the puddles.  The lightning started, so we had to go inside.  Sad face.

"I can do it myself, Mommy!"

This post is about Ollie's independence.  He is able to dress himself and pick out his own clothes.  Please note that not only is the shirt backwards but the pants, too.

Aboretum

Today, we went to the Arboretum for an outdoor adventure.  They have really beautiful gardens and hiking trails that are all in full bloom.  The best part is - it's free.  The kids really had fun with the sculpture garden and fish feeding.  (not pictured - Grammy and PopPop).
